Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club baseball team hosted Hillsdale College over the weekend for a nine-inning game on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs battled through the cold and rainy conditions to defeated Hillsdale, 7-1, and earn their first win of the season.
Adrian began the scoring in the fourth inning on an RBI groundout from
Jack Florig to lead 1-0. The Bulldogs added a run in the sixth inning on an RBI single from
Stephan Aumaitre. Adrian piled on the runs in the seventh to jump out to a 7-0 lead.
Brady Pepper drove in a run followed by
Connor Davies scoring on a passed ball. Aumaitre tripled in a pair of runs which was followed by an RBI double from
Brock Hudik. Hillsdale scored its only run of the game in the top of the ninth.
Aumaitre and Hudik each had multi-hit games with Aumaitre finishing the day with three RBIs.
Joe Postma got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs where he went seven innings allowing no runs on three hits with six strikeouts. Florig pitched two innings in relief allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts.
Adrian will return to action on the road on Monday, October 23 when they travel to Eastern Michigan University for a 7:00 PM game.
