Box Score YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Adrian College club baseball team traveled to Eastern Michigan University on Monday evening for single, 9-inning game. The Bulldogs battled with the Eagles, but fell short by a score of 3-2.
Jack Whitehead began the scoring to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Whitehead had an RBI groundout to scored
Brock Hudik to take the lead. Eastern Michigan responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 1-1. Eastern Michigan to a 2-1 lead in the third inning which was finally answer by Adrian in the eighth.
Connor Davies hit an RBI single to left field to tie the game, 2-2. Eastern Michigan bounced back in the bottom of the eighth to lead 3-2 and held Adrian scoreless in the ninth to hand the Bulldogs the loss.
Hudik and Davies finished the night with a pair of hits each while
Jacob Sikanas, Elijas Holst, and
Jesse Leyva added a hit in the effort.
Jack Florig got the start on the mound for Adrian where he pitched four innings allowing two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
Joe Postma pitched in relief where he threw four innings allowing one run on two hits with six strikeouts.
Adrian falls to 1-6 on the season and will look to bounce back on Saturday, October 28 when they host Washtenaw Community College at 4:00 PM.
