Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club baseball team wrapped up its fall slate on Friday afternoon when they hosted the University of Toledo for a nine inning contest. The Bulldogs went on to defeat the Rockets 12-1 at Nicolay Field. Adrian started the season 0-5 and managed to complete the fall with a 6-6 record after winning six out of their last seven games.
Toledo jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI groundout to shortstop. The Bulldogs responded in the bottom half on an RBI single from
Connor Davies. In the third inning, Davies singled in another run to lead 2-1. Adrian totaled six runs in the fourth inning on doubles from
Stephan Aumaitre,
Brock Hudik, and Jack Whitehead.
Elijah Holst drew a bases loaded walk to put the Bulldogs ahead 8-1.
Adrian added two more in the fifth inning on a passed ball and another RBI single from Davies. The Bulldogs added a pair in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Hudik which was followed by a pass ball to lead 12-1. Adrian would go on to mercy rule the University of Toledo.
Hudik and Davies led the Bulldogs on the day with three RBIs apiece while Whitehead finished the game with two.
Jack Florig got the start on the mound where he finished the day with six innings pitched allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts.
Joe Postma pitched the seventh where he recorded a pair of strikeouts.
The club baseball team will return to action in the spring season where they will look to added on to their four-game winning streak and make a run at the postseason.
