GENEVA, Ill. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team was handed its second loss of the season on Saturday afternoon after a 4-3 battle on the road at Aurora University. The Bulldogs led 2-0 early in the game, but Aurora's strong second period allowed them to come out ahead. Adrian moves to 5-2-1 on the season and picks up their first conference loss.
Zachary Heintz started the scoring to give Adrian a 1-0 lead in the first. Later in the period,
Ryan Vellucci scored his first collegiate goal to put the Bulldogs ahead 2-0 at the end of the first. Aurora came out strong in the second totaling three total goals with two coming on the power play to lead 3-2.
Jacob Suede tied the game in the third period with plenty of time left to play, but Aurora answered back 14 seconds later to regain the lead 4-3 and later win the game.
Dershahn Stewart got the start in goal for the Bulldogs where he finished the afternoon with 31 saves.
The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround before they head out on the road for an exhibition contest against the USA U18 NTDP on Wednesday, November 22 at 6:00 PM at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
