ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College football team held its final home game of the season against nationally ranked Alma College on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs honored its senior class along with the seniors from the marching band, cheerleading team, and dance team. The Bulldogs went on to lose the final home game of the season to the Scots, 45-24.
Alma opened up the scoring on their first offensive play with a 64-yard touchdown pass to lead 7-0. The Bulldogs quickly responded less than a minute later with an 84-yard touchdown pass to tie the game 7-7. Alma regained the lead returning the kickoff for 93 yards. After a Bulldog punt inside the ten-yard line,
Tche Leroux intercepted a pass in the endzone to tie the game at 14-14. Alma held the Bulldogs scoreless in the second quarter and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead 28-14 at the break.
In the second half, Alma added a touchdown and a field goal to enter the final quarter of play leading 38-14. Adrian didn't quit as
Alec Milley kicked a 30-yard field goal. Alma answered with a touchdown which was answered back by the final score of the game from
Tyler Poirier on a 4-yard run.
Mark Lopez led the Bulldogs with 171 yards passing while
Brady Raymond added 69 yards. Poirier totaled 67 yards rushing followed by 46 from
Salvatore Patierno and 41 from Raymond.
Alyjuuan Paris finished the day with eight receptions for 115 yards.
On defense,
Randall Broome led the team with nine tackles, a forced fumble, and an 11-yard sack.
Ryker Bidwell and
Gauge Ginop each recorded eight tackles followed by seven from
Brett Allen and
Waides Ashmon.
The Bulldogs will complete their season on the road next Saturday when they travel to The University of Olivet for a 1:00 PM kickoff.
