BOLZANO, Italy – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team competed in a two-game exhibition series with the Italian National Team during their international trip to Europe. The Bulldogs and the Italian National Team competed on Wednesday and Thursday where they split the series. The Italian National Team took game one by a 1-0 score which was followed by a 2-1 win by the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs struggled to score in the opening game with shots on goal in favor of the Italian National Team, 30-25.
Michaela O'Brien got the start in goal for the Bulldogs totaling 29 saves.
In game two, the Bulldogs came out ahead.
Gia Avalone scored the first goal of the game for the Bulldogs which was later followed by a goal from
Courtney Ben. O'Brien was in net again for Adrian where she came away with 24 saves.
During the team's international trip, the team made stops in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy where they were able to experience different cultures during their tours.
The Bulldogs will return home and take time off before the team's trip to South Carolina where they will faceoff against Williams College and Bowdoin College on December 30-31.
