Baseball Slotted Second in MIAA Preseason Poll

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the Preseason Poll for the 2023 baseball season on Friday afternoon. Adrian was voted to finish second in the MIAA for the upcoming season. Adrian had a down year in the 2022 campaign with a 21-20 record overall and an early MIAA Tournament exit.

The Bulldogs recorded 45 voting points in the Preseason Poll as voted on by the MIAA coaches. Adrian totaled three first place votes and sit one point behind Hope College who is projected to repeat as MIAA Champions.

The Bulldogs return First Team All-MIAA selections Ryan Davis and Don Goodes for the 2023 season along with Second Team All-MIAA selections Michael Swanson and AJ Miranda.

Adrian is faced with a tough preseason schedule as they travel south to take on multiple top-25 teams including Birmingham Southern, LaGrange, Baldwin Wallace, Case Western Reserve, and Denison to name a few.

Kalamazoo was voted to finish third in the MIAA followed by Calvin in fourth and Alma in fifth. Albion, Trine, and Olivet round out the bottom three.

The Bulldogs will kick off its non-conference season down south with three games hosted by Birmingham Southern College. Adrian will start the season on Saturday, February 25 against Webster University followed by Spalding University and Birmingham Southern the next two days.
