ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA baseball team finished the 2026 season ranked No. 5 in both the D3baseball.com Poll and the National Poll conducted by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). The Bulldogs concluded the year among the nation's elite after advancing to the Bracket Championship round of the 2026 NCAA Division III College World Series.
Adrian finished the season with a 40-14 record, becoming one of just seven NCAA Division III programs to reach the 40-win mark in 2026. The season also marked the first 40-win campaign in Adrian College NCAA baseball history. Of the Bulldogs' 54 games this season, 22 came against teams that either finished ranked in the top 25 or received votes in the final D3baseball.com Poll.
The Bulldogs captured the MIAA Regular Season Championship, MIAA Tournament Championship, NCAA Regional Championship, and NCAA Super Regional Championship to advance to the NCAA Division III College World Series for the third time in program history. In Eastlake, Ohio, Adrian opened the tournament with a victory over No. 2 Rowan University before falling to No. 6 Endicott College. The Bulldogs responded with another win over Rowan and defeated Endicott to force the winner-take-all, if necessary game. Adrian's historic season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to Endicott.
Throughout the postseason, the Bulldogs showcased their resilience by facing elimination nine different times. Adrian dropped its opening game in both the NCAA Regional and Super Regional rounds before battling back to advance. The Bulldogs also played in three elimination games during the Division III College World Series.
In the final national rankings, Adrian trailed only four teams. National champion Denison University claimed the No. 1 spot after defeating the Bulldogs 15-5 earlier in the regular season. Endicott, which eliminated Adrian in the World Series, finished No. 2. East Texas Baptist University earned the No. 3 ranking after Adrian defeated the Tigers 10-2 during the preseason. Rowan University rounded out the top four after the Bulldogs defeated the Profs twice, 10-1 and 4-1, at the Division III College World Series.
The Bulldogs will return to the diamond in February 2027 as they begin preparations for another postseason pursuit.
