ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 2 hockey team put up 16 goals in their two-game performance against Loyola University-Chicago at home over the weekend. The Bulldogs also honored their only senior, goaltender
Jules Johnson, prior to puck drop on Sunday afternoon in a Senior Day ceremony.
The Bulldogs opened the series on Saturday with a dominant 7-0 showing over the Ramblers. Freshman, Annavictoria Blaski, opened the scoring for Adrian in the first period, with her first collegiate goal.
Madison Grimm,
Hannah Berenson x2,
Kathleen Droba,
Jordin Giove, and
Bria Hirschman would finish the rest of the scoring for the victorious Bulldogs. Goaltender,
Jennifer Grant, made 28 saves in goal to earn the win.
Sunday's series closing game saw the Bulldogs dominate once again. This time it was Hirschman who found the back of the net four times, including two on the power-play, to bring her season goal total to twelve. Forward,
Claire Ames, would also had a hat-trick in the contest to bring her season total to six.
Jordin Giove and
Mary Robinson would add a goal each to make the final, 9-2, in favor of the Bulldogs. Johnson would make 28 saves on 30 shots for the Senior Day victory.
The WD2 Bulldogs, who currently rank third in the CCWHA 2nd Division, are scheduled to face off against conference opponents, Michigan State University, this weekend in a home and home series, their final one of regular season play. Puck drop on Saturday goes for 7:00 PM at the Arrington Ice Arena, and 1:15 PM on Sunday in East Lansing.
