ANGOLA, Ind. — On Saturday afternoon the Adrian College women's basketball team fell down in Angola, Indiana at the hands of the Thunder of Trine University.
The first quarter for the Bulldogs almost seemed like a rust buster before the conference tournament. Trine ultimately took control and came out with guns blazing knocking down shots from everywhere on the floor. As the second quarter came around, the Bulldogs outscored the Thunder 12-10 and picked up the defensive but still trailed 31-20 at the break.
The second half is where the Thunder could not be stopped. The offensive side was just too much for the Bulldogs to handle along with solid defense as well from Trine. Adrian struggled from the floor shooting 3-for-13 in the third quarter and 4-for-15 in the fourth. Trine would go on to win 70-37.
Kiara Wernette was the lone lady dog in double digits today scoring 11 points with five rebounds.
Makayla Clement pulled down seven boards while scoring six points and knocking down two three point shots from deep.
The Bulldogs begin MIAA tournament play on Tuesday February 21st where they finished the regular season 10-15 (6-10 MIAA). Tip-off is to be determined by the MIAA after seeding is completed.
