BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Adrian College baseball team began its season on the road at Birmingham Southern in game one of their weekend tournament. The Bulldogs opened up with No. 13 Webster University on Saturday night. Due to rain, first pitch was delay just over an hour.

Adrian trailed early after Webster put up three runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Bulldogs responded with three runs of their own in the top of the second. Adrien Gutierrez walked with the bases loaded to score the first run of the game.
Gus Weaks followed it up with a 2-RBI single to tie the game.

In the third inning,
Ryan Davis hit a 2-run homer to lead 5-3. In the fourth inning, Adrian added more.
AJ Miranda hit an RBI single which was followed by an RBI single from
Andrew Atherton. Don Goods singled in a run in the fifth inning to make it an 8-3 game. Later in the fifth, Goodes scored to increase the lead.

Webster scored again in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 9-4 game.

Daniel Gutierrez was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs after throwing five innings allowing six hits and three earned runs with two strikeouts.

The Bulldogs will take on Spalding University tomorrow afternoon at 3:15 PM EST.
