ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's hockey team completed the sweep over Lawrence University on Saturday in the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals. The Bulldogs came away with a 5-0 win to earn the team's 15
th shutout of the season.
Adrian led 2-0 after the first period.
Karmen Anderson started the scoring to lead 1-0.
Callie Wollschlager and
Maya Roy recorded assists on the goal. Later in the period, Roy scored a goal of her own to lead 2-0. Anderson and
Jocelin Hudanish added the assists.
In the second period,
Reaghan Pietrowski netted a shorthanded goal to lead 3-0.
Une Bjelland scored in the second period to extend the lead to 4-0. The final goal of the game came at the end of the third period when Hudanish scored to put Adrian ahead 5-0.
Sophie Goldberg had a light day in goal facing just two shots on goal and saving both of them. Saturday marked Goldberg's tenth shutout of the season moving into second all-time for most shutouts in a single season in program history.
Adrian awaits the winners of the remaining NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals to determine its semifinal opponent. Next weekend, the Bulldogs will serve as host of the Slaats Cup Semifinals and Championship. The Bulldogs will play Friday, March 3 at 2:00 PM against an opponent to be named later.
