ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team added another shutout victory to its season on Friday evening as they opened their series with the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and held on to win 7-0.
Kathryn Truban started the scoring to lead 1-0 in the first period.
Jessica VonRuden added a goal followed by
Zoe Lohrei to lead 3-0.
Une Bjelland found the back of the net to lead 4-0 and followed it up with her second goal of the game on a power play with 1:30 to go in the first to lead 5-0. Bjelland's second goal was her fourth point of the game after recording assists on the first two goals.
In the second period,
Karmen Anderson added a power play goal to lead 6-0. With less than a minute to go in the second,
Tia Lascelle picked up a rebound to score the team's seventh goal.
The third period went scoreless for both sides allowing Adrian to win 7-0. Friday night marked the Bulldog's 12
th shutout victory of the season.
Annie Gilbert got the start in goal for Adrian on Friday night where she recorded the shutout with nine saves.
Adrian will look to sweep the series tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 PM for their final regular season home game of the year.
