ADRIAN, Mich. — The Adrian College men's tennis team captured their first win of the 2023 calendar year after defeating Franklin College 6-3 Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs dominated singles play by winning five of their six matches against the Grizzlies.
Sophomore Brandon Falk continued his strong play today after defeating his opponent Nathan Jarboe 6-1 in both the first and second sets. With his victory, Falk improved his singles record to 5-3 in his past eight singles matches.
Senior Ryan Cuddy also picked up a victory in his singles match over Dustin Garrison. After falling behind one set to none, Cuddy won two straight sets to take the victory.
For the freshman Luke Holowinski, he snapped his singles losing streak after defeating Franklin's Owen Pickerill, in three sets.
Additionally, senior Zachary Perry and freshman Sean Ruhf saw singles victories on Saturday. Perry was able to swiftly defeat Franklin's Layton Stieneker after a two-set sweep today. For Ruhf, he would also win in two sets during his singles match against Lucas Densford.
Today, Holowinski and Falk picked up the lone doubles win for the Bulldogs. The two would defeat Dustin Garrison Layton Stieneker by a score of 8-1, improving the duo's record together to 1-2 on the season.
