WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Adrian College women's golf team traveled to Virginia for a two-day tournament at Williamsburg National Golf Club. The Bulldogs won the tournament with the help of the starting five all placing in the top-12. The Bulldogs demolished the rest of the field winning by 34 strokes with a two-day total of 639.
Adrian was highlighted by
Olivia Ohmer and
Sara Bevington who tied for first place in the tournament. Ohmer and Bevington had back-to-back identical rounds both shooting a 77 on Saturday and 80 on Sunday to finish with 157 for the two days.
Lauren Reed finished fourth in the tournament with an 83 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday for a two-day total of 164.
Taylor Ross tied for sixth with a 169 over the two days. Ross struggled on day one after shooting a 90 which she responded with a 79 on day two.
Riley Kleck rounded out the team with a 12
th place finish shooting an 82 on day one and a 92 on day two.
All five golfers finished in the top-12 in the 33 golfer field. The women's team ran the competition winning day one with a 319 and placing second on day two with a 320 in the seven team field.
The Bulldogs will return to Virginia in two weeks to play in the Max/Susan Stith Invite which holds some of the top teams in the country. The two-day tournament will be a good test for Adrian as they head into the MIAA Automatic Qualifier in April looking to make a run at the National Tournament.
