BEREA, Ohio – The Adrian College softball team lost to Baldwin Wallace in game one 2-0 and game two 12-1 in Saturday's doubleheader.
GAME ONE
The Bulldogs lost a close battle in game one against the Yellow Jackets, with both teams recording a total of seven hits each. In the first inning,
Karson Bagelmann walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. However, the softball team was unable to score Bagelmann as three consecutive outs were recorded to end the inning. Later at the top of the third, Bagelmann and
Meghan Lupu would reach base. However, three consecutive strikeouts would end the threat.
During the fourth inning, Baldwin Wallace was able to break the tie after recording a double and a triple to put the Yellow Jackets ahead 1-0. In the following inning, Bagelmann would reach base again off of a single but was unable to score. Baldwin Wallace would score another run after recording a single and a double during the inning.
In the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, the Bulldogs recorded five total hits but failed to score.

In game one, Bagelmann and
Paige Stein combined for four hits to lead the Bulldogs.
GAME TWO
In the second game of Saturday's action, the Bulldogs would fall 12-1 against the Yellow Jackets. As a team, Adrian College recorded a total of five hits.
The Bulldogs would score their only run in the fifth. During the inning,
Hailey DeChalk grounded out and recorded an RBI in the process scoring
Genna Marasco and advancing
Makenzi Johnson to second.
Maggie Leveille followed by singling to advance Johnson to third base and
Abbie Hoff would walk to load the bases. With
Savannah Godfrey up to bat, she would advance to first on a fielder's choice. Despite the multiple base runners, the softball team was held to one run in the fifth.

In game two, Stein, Leveille, and Marasco combined for five hits.

The Bulldogs will face Heidelberg University in a doubleheader on Monday, March 27. Game one will take place at 3:30 PM and game two will follow at 5:30 PM.
