GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team traveled to Denison University on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference contest leading up to the MIAA opening series this weekend. The Bulldogs struggled at the plate and on the mound dropping the contest to the Big Red 17-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Denison grabbed a pair of runs early in the second inning on an RBI groundout and an RBI single.
- Denison scored seven runs in the fifth inning with the help of four Denison doubles.
- Adrian scored in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Ryan Davis to put Adrian on the board.
- Easton Rogers drove in a pair of runs on a single with the bases loaded to make it 9-3.
- Denison responded with five more in the seventh inning to jump out to a 14-3 lead.
- Linken Hayward drove in a run on an RBI groundout to make it 14-4.
- Denison continued its strong offensive efforts scoring three in the eighth to win 17-4.
- Davis led the Bulldogs with two hits on the afternoon with the team totaling five on the day.
- Joe Toth earned the start for Adrian recording the loss allowing two runs on three hits with four walks.
- Travis Dannecker, Tripp Russo, Robert Leonard, and Datron Davis all appeared in relief.

Due to potential rain in the forecast on Friday, Adrian has decided to move its MIAA opener with Calvin University to tomorrow. The Bulldogs and the Knights will start the weekend series on Thursday, March 30 at 5PM from Nicolay Field.
