DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its All-Academic Teams for men's and women's NCAA hockey on Thursday morning. The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team landed 17 players on the All-Academic Team while the Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team has landed 13 players on the All-Academic Team.
To qualify for the All-Academic Team Award, the student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior, or senior and carry an overall GPA of 3.30.
The men's team is highlighted by
Alessio Luciani and
Nic Tallarico who find themselves receiving the honor for the third consecutive year.
Ayodele Adeniye,
Ty Enns,
Zachary Heintz,
John Kaljian,
Jaden Shields,
Chase Spencer,
Matus Spodniak, and
Dershahn Stewart all earn their second career All-Academic Team Honor. Rounding out the men's team is
Cameron Babiak,
Matt Couto,
Jay Feiwell,
Ryan Pitoscia,
Mathew Rehding, and
Dante Spagnuolo landing the honor for the first time in their careers.
Une Bjelland highlights the women's team as the only Bulldog to appear three times on the All-Academic Team. Earning their second career honor are
Karmen Anderson,
Emma Corbett,
Sophie Goldberg,
Annika Hanson,
Jocelin Hudanish,
Maya Roy,
Kathryn Truban, and
Callie Wollschlager. For the first time in their careers,
Gia Avalone,
Gwen Bowler,
Aileena Dopheide, and
Zoe Lohrei earn the award.
The two Bulldog teams combine for 30 All-Academic Team members leading to part of the league's record breaking 242 student-athletes.
