ADRIAN, Mich. – The Slaats Cup is returning home to the Arrington Ice Arena. The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team defeated St. Norbert College 4-1 on Sunday afternoon to win the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs. With the championship win, the 2022-23 season marks the eighth NCHA Tournament Championship in Adrian College program history.
In the first period,
Jocelin Hudanish began the scoring to take an early 1-0 lead. Early in the second period,
Une Bjelland scored to lead 2-0 which was followed by Adrian's third goal of the game from
Reaghan Pietrowski.
In the third period,
Callie Wollschlager scored for the Bulldogs to lead 4-0. Forty seconds later, St. Norbert put themselves on the board, but couldn't transfer the momentum to spark a comeback.
Kaleigh Cadorette and
Kathryn Truban each had two assists for Adrian while Hudanish and Bjelland added an assist to their goals to give them a two-point afternoon.
Sophie Goldberg recorded 16 saves in goal on Sunday afternoon and came away with her fourth win of the playoffs.

Sophie Goldberg were named to the NCHA Slaats Cup All-Tournament Team. With four wins in goal, Goldberg was named the NCHA Slaats Cup MVP.
With the win, Adrian has earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs will find out their opening opponent on Sunday, March 5 at 8:30 PM EST. during the NCAA DIII Women's Hockey Selection Show on www.NCAA.com.
