Softball Sweeps Olivet to Extend Win Streak to Four

OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College softball team swept Olivet College in a doubleheader on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs improve their winning streak to four games after an 11-1 victory in game one and an 8-0 victory in game two.
 
GAME ONE
  • Adrian started the scoring early in the game with an RBI groundout from Paige Stein followed by a RBI single from Maggie Leveille to lead 2-0.
  • Ava Ferrarelli drove in a pair on a two-run homer to center to lead 4-0 after the first inning.
  • Olivet booted the ball around the field in the second inning as Adrian made it 5-0. Leveille singled in a pair to extend the lead followed by a RBI single from Brynn McKay to lead 8-0.
  • The Bulldogs continued to take advantage of Olivet errors as they extended their lead to 10-0.
  • Ashley Myers pinched-hit in the fifth inning where she singled in a run to lead 11-0.
  • Olivet scored in the fifth, but remained scoreless the rest of the way.
  • Abbi Patton earned the win in five innings allowing just one run on three hits for four strikeouts.
GAME TWO
  • Hailey DeChalk drove in a run to lead 1-0 on a double in the bottom of the first followed by an RBI single from Leveille.
  • In the second inning, Stein singled in a pair to extend the lead to 4-0.
  • Karson Bagelmann singled and Meghan Lupu each singled in a run in the third followed by an RBI groundout from Stein to lead 7-0.
  • McKay drove in a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead 8-0 and reach the mercy rule.
  • Macee Schang earned her 11th win of the season after allowing no runs on one hit with ten strikeouts through six innings.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will travel to Albion College on Wednesday, April 19 for a doubleheader with the Briton starting at 3:00 PM.
