HARROD, Ohio -- The Adrian College women's golf team was back in action on Friday and Saturday as they competed in a two-day tournament hosted by Ohio Northern. The Bulldogs trailed by eight strokes entering Saturday where they managed to cut into the lead to finish second by one stroke. Adrian shot a 337 on day one followed by a 326 on day two to total a 663.
Taylor Ross led the way for Adrian with an 82 on Friday and a 78 on Saturday. During the two days, Ross totaled a tournament score of 160 and was named the tournament champion with a first place finish.
Sara Bevington shot a 165 over the two days with an 87 on Friday, but bounced back to shoot a 78 on Saturday and tie for fourth overall.
Riley Kleck tied for seventh in the field. On Friday, she began the tournament with an 85 which she backed with an 82 on Saturday to total 167.
Lauren Reed also placed in the top-10 and she finished 10th as an individual totaling a 172 for the two days. On Friday she shot 84 followed by an 88 on Saturday.
Olivia Ohmer rounded out the starting five where she finished 12th with a two-day total of 174. Ohmer shot an 86 to begin the weekend and an 88 to end the weekend.
Ashlynn Challand played as an individual where she shot 94 on Friday and 93 on Saturday to finish with a score of 187 for the two days.
The Bulldogs will travel to Kalamazoo College on Monday to compete in the Steven Tyler Memorial Tournament leading up to the 2023 MIAA Automatic Qualifiers scheduled to begin Tuesday at St. Mary's.
