DEPAUW, IN – The Adrian College women's volleyball team is competing in the MIAA/NCAC Crossover this Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs opened the weekend up against Hiram College before competing against Rose Hulman University on Friday.
The Bulldogs took down Hiram in four sets winning 3-1. Adrian won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-18. Hiram took the 3
rd set, but the Bulldogs took over the fourth set, 25-20.
During the match,
Mya Minjares (Junior), accomplished an outstanding feat by achieving her 1,000
th career dig. She led Adrian with 29 digs through four sets.
Amber Morris led the attack offensively with 18 kills while adding 18 digs.
Hailey Farrell was in on the action putting up 34 assists and 16 digs followed by
Lana Cox with 12 digs.
Adrian was defeated by Rose-Hulman in the second match of the day, 3-2. The Bulldogs won the first match, 25-23. After the first set it was a back-and-forth battle until Rose-Hulman won the fifth set, 15-5.
Once again,
Amber Morris was the kill leader for the Bulldogs with 16 followed by
Kayla Chan with seven and
Ariel Gibson with six.
Mya Minjares had 28 digs to lead Adrian.
Hailey Farrell totaled 34 assists and 13 digs.
Adrian will face off again tomorrow afternoon against the host DePauw University at 12:15 PM.
