TOLEDO, OH. – The No. 6 Adrian College Women's NCAA Hockey team battled with Trine University at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday afternoon, coming out on top with a 6-1 win.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first period on an unassisted goal from captain
Karmen Anderson. The Bulldogs then added one more with 0.1 seconds to go in the opening frame, this time on a point shot from
Annika Hanson.
The Bulldogs would add three more in the second period thanks to
Courtney Ben,
Tia Lascelle, and
Aileena Dopheide. Trine would score their lone goal in the second period as well.
Third period action saw Adrian tack on one more goal from
Callie Wollschlager, closing out the 6-1 victory. Dopheide, Lascelle, and Wollschlager each added an assist in the contest. Goaltender
Michaela O'Brien made eleven saves in her fourth win of the season. Shots on goal in the game ended 73-12 in Adrian's favor.
The NCAA Women's Hockey team will be back in action on January 12-13 when they host Lawrence University at the Arrington Ice Arena for a NCHA series match-up.
