ANN HARBOR, MICH. – This past weekend, the Adrian College club softball team faced off against the University of Michigan in an intense triple header. Despite a tough start, with Michigan taking the first game 8-0, the Bulldogs showed resilience throughout the series.
In Game two, Junior Alexis Hart-Bucher broke through Michigan's defense, scoring the lone run for Adrian. Although they fell short in the second game, the Bulldogs' momentum was building.
The final game of the series was a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Sophomore Allison Bell ignited the offense early with a two-run homer, giving Adrian an early lead in the first inning. By the second inning, sophomore Alyssa Kamm's clutch single tied the game at three. Freshman Brianna Scott followed with a sacrifice fly, bringing in another run to push the Bulldogs ahead. Junior Jocelyn Schuster then sealed the inning with a single, driving in yet another run and putting Adrian up by two.
The Bulldogs held strong, securing their first-ever victory over Michigan in program history with a decisive win in Game 3.
Next, the Bulldogs are gearing up for their match up against Michigan State University in East Lansing on November 3, with the first game set to start at 10:00 AM.
