ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club baseball team hosted Central Michigan University over the weekend in a three-game home series. The Bulldogs went on to take two out of the three games winning games one and two, 10-3 and 11-1, before falling in game three, 5-2.
In game one of the series, Central Michigan open the game scoring two runs in the top of the first. The Bulldogs responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first followed by two in the third, two in the fourth, and four in the fifth. Adrian collected nine hits in the game including three from
Tyler Hall.
Jack Florig and
Connor Davies each added a pair of hits.
Michael Hale got the start on the mound where he earned the win after tossed six innings.
Adrian took game two of the series in five innings with the help of a six-runs second inning and a three-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs collected 11 hits in the game with five Bulldogs finishing the game with two.
Brock Hudik,
Connor Davies, and
Aiden Cholewa each added RBI triples on the day. Hudik finished the game with three RBIs.
Jack Florig pitched a complete game allowing one run on six hits.
Adrian's hot streak at the plate came to an end in game three. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Central Michigan scored two in the fifth and three in the sixth to come away with the victory. Adrian finished the game with seven hits, but left 17 runners on base.
Joe Postma got the start for Adrian on the hill where he threw five innings allowing two runs on five hits.
Adrian's fall season comes to an end as their schedule doubleheader on October 27 has been canceled. The Bulldogs will resume action in the spring with a schedule to be determined. Adrian will begin the spring with an 8-8 record.
