ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's soccer team triumphed over Saint Mary's College with a hard-fought 1-0 victory on Thursday.
After a rain delay on October 12, play resumed on Thursday night, with the Bulldogs immediately seizing control of the match. In the 39th minute, junior Annamarie Fosmoen broke the deadlock, finding the back of the net after a perfectly timed pass from senior Kelsey Zoli.
With a slim lead in hand, Adrian dominated the second half, displaying a commanding defensive performance to secure the shutout. The Bulldogs fired eight shots, five of which were on target, while Saint Mary's managed six attempts, with only two troubling the Adrian goalkeeper.
The Bulldogs now set their sights on senior night, when they'll take on Albion College at 7:00 PM on October 26 at Docking Stadium.
Melanie Perhne and Teagan Bergeron offered their thoughts on the match post-game.
