ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College football team wrapped up its season on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Alma College. The Bulldogs finish the season 6-4 (3-4 MIAA) after a 31-7 loss to the Scots at home.
In the first quarter, Alma picked up an early field goal to lead 3-0. On Adrian's next drive they responded with a touchdown by
Ethan Abberger to lead 7-3. Alma went on to take a 10-7 lead into the second quarter, and later a 24-7 lead into the half. Adrian struggled offensively being held scoreless the rest of the game while the defense played strong in the second half allowing just seven points.
Jake Kelbert finished the game 17-of-35 passing for 180 yards.
Noah Heide finished 5-of-9 for 61 yards.
Jalen Wallace was targeted 22 times on Saturday while making ten catches for 113 yards. On defense,
Ethan Layton and
Maddox Woods stepped up with Layton finishing with 16 total tackles and Woods with 15 total tackles.
Bennett Gilde added ten tackles. Layton also recovered a fumble while
Koronnis Davis picked up an interception.
Adrian's 2024 season comes to an end with a 6-4 record for first-year head coach,
Joe Palka. The Bulldogs will be back in action for the 2025 season in September. Stay tuned for the release of the 2025 Adrian College football schedule during the spring semester.
