WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. -- The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey began its tournament in Florida on Friday night against No. 12 Trinity College from Connecticut. The No. 5 Bulldogs went on to defeat Trinity 3-1 on Friday night to move on to the championship game of their Thanksgiving weekend tournament.
It took 53 seconds for the Bulldogs to strike as
Tia Lascelle found the back of the net on passes from
Riley Johnson and
Kathryn Truban. Later in the period, Trinity tied the game at 1-1 which went on to be the score entering the third period. In the third period,
Carly Carpenter netted her first collegiate goal to take a 2-1 lead which resulted in the game winner. With under three minutes to play,
Emma Simon scored to win the game 3-1.Â
Lascelle led the team with a pair of points as she recorded an assist on the third goal of the game.
Annie Gilbert started in goal for the Bulldogs where she recorded 14 saves.
The Bulldogs will look to win the tournament tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM when they face No. 8 Utica University. Utica defeated No. 13 Norwich University to advance to the championship game.
