FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team began NCHA conference play on Friday night as they began its series with Marian University. The Bulldogs came away with a 6-1 victory to move to 2-1 on the season and open conference play with a victory.
The Bulldogs led 1-0 after the first period on a goal from
Allie Hubenschmidt. Quickly into the second period,
Jocelin Hudanish made it 2-0 Bulldogs before
Paige Pomerleau and
Courtney Ben made it 4-0. Marian opened the third period with a power play goal, but Pomerleau answered back with her second score of the game.
Aileena Dopheide netted a power play goal with 8:53 to play to complete the game.
Ben finished the night with three points for the Bulldogs as she added a pair of assists to her goal.
Maya Roy dished out three assists on the night while
Kathryn Truban added two.
Kiera Stack made her collegiate debut for Adrian where she finished the night with eight saves in her first win.
The Bulldogs will complete the series with Marian University on Saturday, November 9 at 4:30 PM EST.
