ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 2 hockey team battled Notre Dame this past weekend in a couple of low-scoring affairs, collecting a 1-0 shutout victory on the road before tying the Fighting Irish, 0-0, at home.
Adrian managed to hold Notre Dame scoreless in their home rink on Saturday evening, as
Akeeliah Graham scored her first career college goal early in the first period to give the Bulldogs the lead and eventual win. Goaltender
Jordan Hunt made 25 saves for the shutout victory.
When the two teams met at the AIA on Sunday, the battle of the goaltenders continued as both teams were held scoreless through regulation and overtime, giving each tender of the net a recorded shutout. After no score through four frames, the Bulldogs and Fighting Irish took part in a shootout, where Adrian came out victorious, 2-1.
Madison Grimm and
Devon Cavaliere scored for the Bulldogs, while Hunt shut the door for the second night in a row, making 27 saves and earning her fourth shutout of the 2024-25 season.
The WD2 Bulldogs end the first semester with a 5-8-2 record and will head into Christmas break, before returning to the ice on January 11-12 for a home series against Aurora University.
