ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team honored six seniors on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day. Sara Serbantez, Kali Barber, Olivia Green, Julia Tierman, Jordan Phillips, and Kiaya Warner used their experience to gut out a win against Saint Mary's College, 81-74.

The Bulldogs jump out to a hot start behind a jumper from Olivia Green and a three-pointer from Sara Serbantez to take the early 5-2 lead. Saint Mary's responded with a layup only to be answered by a 9-2 Adrian run over the next four minutes capped off by a Kylie Skidmore bucket inside. The Bulldogs closed the first quarter with a 20-11 advantage.

Saint Mary's would not go away in the second quarter as they were able cut unto the lead. After a Gales jumper by Athena Sampson the score would be 22-21 Adrian. The last 6:30 of the quarter was a game of runs as the Bulldogs go right back up 10 points (33-23) following a Kaia Warner jumper from downtown. The Gales fought back to go into half time down three from a Sampson Athena free throw. The Bulldogs would shoot 31% in the first half and go 4-20 from beyond the arc.

In the second half the Bulldogs would strike first with a made layup from Serbantez assisted by Warner. Adrian would be up nine points with just under seven minutes to go in the third quarter, but just like in the first half Saint Mary's would respond to bring it back to within three points at the end of the third period. Adrian would be up 56-53 and shoot 35% from the floor and go 2-5 from three-point land.

Peyton Russell would make a jumper to score the first basket of the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs. The rest of the contest would be back and forth, but Adrian would never give up the lead the rest of the way. Adrian would go up 12, their largest lead of the game with just under two minutes. The Bulldogs would go on to win on Senior Day, 81-74.
