GREENVILLE, PA – The Adrian College men's volleyball team would take on the Thiel Tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs would defeat Penn State Altoona, but lose to the host Thiel College.
In the first match, Adrian would win in three straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-22.
Chase Heuer would lead with 15 kills as
Sam Landers would tally nine. Landers finished with three service aces as
Carson Bell totaled four blocks.
Andrew Gawrisch had 24 assists and
Jacob Rembulat contributed 13 digs in the three sets. Adrian had a hitting percentage of .281.
In the second match of the day, Adrian would lose in five sets. Thiel College would win the first two sets 25-22 and 25-21, but the Bulldogs would win the next two 25-20 and 25-18. In the fifth set Adrian would end up losing 15-7.
Landers would lead with 18 kills with
Chase Heuer behind him with 15 of his own. Gawrisch totaled three service aces in the match as Bell added five more blocks. Gawrisch had a total of 38 assists through the five sets as Rembulat would add 18 more digs on the day. Adrian would finish match two with a .164 hitting percentage.
Adrian will travel to Baldwin Wallace for their first MCVL conference matchup on Friday, March 1 at 7:00 PM!
