BURTON, Mich. — The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 2 hockey team has advanced to the CCWHA Division 2 Playoff Championship game, which will take place tomorrow in Burton, Michigan at 12:30 PM.
The Bulldogs will compete for the title after quarterfinal and semifinal wins over #6 seed Miami Ohio and #2 seed Central Michigan.
Adrian took down Miami Ohio on Friday afternoon, defeating the Redhawks by a 3-2 score in regulation. Goals from
Claire Ames and two from
Jordin Giove were the difference in the game as the Bulldogs advanced to play CMU in the semifinal. Goaltender,
Emily Tracht, made 12 saves on 14 shots in between the pipes sending her team to the next round.
On Saturday, Adrian managed to take down higher seed CMU in a thrilling overtime game, 3-2.
Natalie Tolton and
Devon Cavaliere provided the goals in regulation for the Bulldogs, before
Ava Seychel, who provided assists on the first two goals, sealed it for Adrian in overtime to move them to Championship Sunday. Tracht was lights out again, making 28 saves on 30 shots for her team.
The Bulldogs will meet #1 seed Sault College in the championship game tomorrow afternoon. Puck drop at 12:30 PM at the Crystal Fieldhouse in Burton.
