HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. Adrian College earned two MIAA Athlete of the Week honors with Daniel Gutierrez earning Pitcher of the Week for the Adrian College baseball team, and Cameron Reed landing Defensive Athlete of the Week for the Adrian College men's lacrosse team.
 
Reed led the Bulldogs on defense against Ohio Northern in their 12-11 triple overtime victory last Wednesday. Reed went on to score two goals while dishing out an assist. He caused three turnovers and scooped up seven ground balls. His final caused turnover came in triple overtime which led to Adrian's game winning goal.
 
Gutierrez earned the start on the mound for the Bulldogs in the 2024 season opener. The starter earned the win over Wheaton College with the help of five scoreless innings pitched. He managed to allow only three hits and strike out eight on the afternoon.
 
Both awards mark the first weekly honor for both the baseball team and men's lacrosse team this season.
