HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Hope College on Wednesday night for an MIAA conference game. The Bulldogs would fall short to the Dutchmen, 74-51.
In the first half,
Kendall Chrismon would give Adrian an early lead by burying a corner three-pointer. A stagnant first eight minutes happened as Hope held onto a 10-7 lead. The Dutchmen would go on an 8-0 run in under the next minute of action. Adrian would struggle to get anything going offensively the rest of the half going down as many as 19 points. The Bulldogs would end the first twenty minutes of play down, 37-21. Adrian would shoot 7-24 (29%) from the floor and go 3-9 (33%) from beyond the arc.
A made three-pointer by
Josh Rechsteiner would give the Bulldogs some momentum to start the second half. Hope would withstand Adrian's run to start the second half as they would get back out to a 24-point lead half way through. A back and forth last ten minutes led to a 23-point margin of victory for the Dutchmen by a score of 74-51. Adrian would shoot 32% from the field compared to 47% from Hope. The Bulldogs went 7-23 from the three-point line as the Dutchmen went 5-26.
Nick Seifert and Chrismon led the way in scoring with 10 each while
Braylon Dickerson added eight of his own. Dickerson had a team-high five rebounds with Seifert leading with two assists on the night.
Adrian will travel to Albion College for their next conference matchup on Saturday, February 10 at 1:00 PM.
