ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team hosted North Central College on Friday afternoon for a non-conference match up. The Bulldogs would win 3-2 as
Jakob Charles would get credited with the win and
Ryan Davis would earn the save.
A pitcher's dual was on display this afternoon as Charles and the North Central pitcher would keep the game scoreless through five innings. In the bottom of the sixth,
Jack Boike would get the Bulldogs started with a lead off single.
Nic Bruder would also get a hit to left field as
Ryan Davis would step into the box and double to left field to score the first run of the game, giving Adrian a 1-0 lead.
AJ Miranda, the next Bulldogs batter would hit a single into left field to score Davis and Bruder to open up a 3-0 lead for the Bulldogs. The seventh and eighth inning would be scoreless for both squads. In the top of the ninth inning, the Cardinals would make it interesting as they would score twice. Davis would come in relief with runners on first and second and close the game with a strikeout to give Adrian the win, 3-2. Adrian would total nine hits as North Central would total eight hits of their own.
Bruder and Miranda would lead Adrian with two hits, both going 2-4 on the day. Miranda would add two RBIs as
Joe Casale would draw two walks for Adrian. Charles would earn the win to improve to 2-1 on the year as he would strikeout five and walk two in his outing. Davis would take home his second save of the season.
Adrian will be right back in action tomorrow at 5:00 PM for another non-conference match up against Baldwin Wallace University!
