SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team competed in a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Wittenberg University. The Bulldogs came away with a two-game sweep taking game one of the day by a 5-4 victory followed by a 5-3 win in game two.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1

• Edward Wagner put the Bulldogs on the board in the first inning on a sacrifice fly to lead 1-0.
• Wittenberg hit a solo home run in the second inning followed by a pair of solo homers in the third to lead 3-1.
• Easton Rogers singled in a run in the fourth inning followed by two runs in the fifth on a Wittenberg error and a passed ball to take a 4-3 lead. Wittenberg tied the game in the sixth before the Bulldogs scored a run in the ninth on another Wittenberg error to win 5-4.
• Lincoln Lipinski picked up the win in relief throwing 2.2 innings where he allowed no runs on one hit. Ryan Davis earned his third save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

GAME 2

• AJ Miranda drove in a run on an RBI ground out in the first inning to grab an early lead.
• Jakob Charles scored on a wild pitch in the third inning to go up 2-0.
• In the fifth inning, Miranda smacked a two-run homer to lead 4-0.
• Wittenberg responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth before Ryan Davis answered with a solo shot in the top of the seventh.
• Wittenberg homered in the ninth, but came up short giving Adrian a 5-3 victory.
• Charles finished the second game with three hits and two runs scored for the Bulldogs.
• Charles also picked up the win on the mound throwing five innings allowing two runs on five hits with five strike outs. Luc St. Antoine picked up the save.
