ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team traveled to Alma College to wrap up the three-game series with the Scots. Both games went into extra innings with the Bulldogs falling in walk-off fashion in game one before game two was suspended in the tenth inning due to darkness. Adrian lost game one, 8-7, while game two was suspended at a 13-13 tie.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
- Adrian jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second on a 2-RBI double from David Kedrow.
- Alma went on to score a run in the fourth inning before adding two in the sixth to lead 3-2.
- The Scots jumped out to a 5-2 lead after scoring two more runs in the bottom of the seventh.
- Adrian put together a four-run eighth inning started by a bases loaded walk to Jakob Charles. Joe Casale cleared the bases in the next at bat on a double to take a 6-5 lead.
- Alma responded in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game and later force extra innings.
- Adrian added a run in the top of the tenth on an RBI single from Jack Boike.
- Alma tied the game on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the inning before being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to win the game.
- Daniel Gutierrez got the start on the mound for Adrian where he threw 5.1 innings allowing three runs on seven hits.
GAME 2 – SUSPENDED
- Alma took a 1-0 lead in the first inning before Adrian responded with a five-run second.
- Jakob Charles hit a 2-RBI double followed by a bases clearing double from AJ Miranda to lead 5-1.
- Alma added two in the second and one in the third to make it 5-4, Adrian.
- Casale picked up an RBI in the fourth before Boike hit a grand slam in the fifth to lead 10-4.
- The Scots responded with three in the bottom of the fifth before Casale homered in the sixth for the Bulldogs to lead 11-7. Adrian added two more in the sixth on an RBI groundout from Kedrow and a wild pitch to score Miranda to lead 13-7.
- Alma scored three in the sixth, two in the eighth, and one in the ninth to tie the game and force extra innings.
- The game was suspended entering the tenth inning due to darkness. Per MIAA guidelines, the conference does not recognize tied games and will mark game two as unofficial at this time. The game will be continued at a later date, if needed.

Adrian's next contest is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 on the road at Trine University. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
