HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Adrian College baseball team started its weekend series in North Carolina on Thursday afternoon as they took on Greensboro College. The Bulldogs came out ahead by a score of 8-2 defeating Greensboro who ranked in the top-10 in batting average in NCAA Division III entering Thursday's game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Greensboro jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a second inning solo home run.
- Adrian responded with a pair of runs in the third to take the lead. AJ Miranda recorded an RBI singled followed by an RBI single from Joe Casale to lead 2-1.
- Greensboro responded in the bottom of the third to tie the game, 2-2.
- In the fourth inning, Jakob Charles singled in a run followed by another RBI single from Nic Bruder to lead 4-2.
- The Bulldogs added three more in the fifth on an RBI single from Zach Wade and a 2-RBI double from Charles.
- Adrian added an insurance run in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly from Casale.
TOP DAWGS
- Charles finished the day with a pair of hits and three RBIs. Bruder and Miranda also recorded two hits each.
- Adrian stole three bases on Thursday with one coming from Charles and two from Bruder.
- Daniel Gutierrez picked up his second win of the season throwing six innings where he allowed one earned run with five strikeouts.
- Broc Shoemaker pitched in relief where he recorded a three-inning save allowing no runs on one hit with five strikeouts.

The Bulldogs will wrap up their spring break trip on Friday, March 8 with a doubleheader. Adrian will start the day with the University of Rochester (NY) at 11:00 AM before facing Maryville College at 6:00 PM.
