ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Men's Lacrosse team took on Capital University at Docking Stadium on Saturday afternoon, coming out with a 9-7 win.
The Comets opened the scoring seconds into the game before Adrian responded with a tally of their own from
Tyler Ristau. Capital would answer back before
Riley Edwards tied it at 2 for the Bulldogs. To close out the first frame,
Trace Tidswell would find the back of the net for Adrian to make it 3-2 after one quarter of play.
Second quarter action saw Adrian's Edwards pot another before Capital quickly responded with two goals to tie it at 4. The Comets would add one more to go up 5-4 at half time.
The Bulldogs and Comets would battle back and forth, escalating the rough stuff in quarter three.
Jack Messel and
Alec Winegar would contribute goals in the third for Adrian before the Comets would tie it at 6 and eventually take a 7-6 lead heading into the final quarter.
Adrian would tie it in the fourth quarter on a goal from Winegar. Shortly after, the Bulldogs took the 8-7 lead on a snipe from
Jake Coakley. The home team would add another from
Michael Jonas into the empty net and hold on for the 9-7 victory.
Sam Spangler was tremendous in goal, stopping a total of 12 shots for the Bulldogs.
The Men's Lacrosse team will return to action on Wednesday, March 13 at Kenyon College. Face off at 4:00 PM.
