ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team faced Kalamazoo College in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Nicolay Field. The Bulldogs were marked as the visiting team on the scoreboard due to the Kalamazoo home game being pushed to Adrian due to field conditions. The Bulldogs fell to the Hornets in Sunday's contest, 9-7, giving Kalamazoo a 2-1 series victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kalamazoo led 2-0 after two innings of play after scoring on an RBI single in the first inning and an RBI single in the second inning.
- Nic Bruder put the Bulldogs on the board in the third on an RBI single to right centerfield.
- Kalamazoo went on to have a five-run fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead.
- The Bulldogs responded in the sixth inning and tied the game 7-7. Edward Wagner singled in a run followed by an RBI single from Easton Rogers, an RBI double from Jack Boike, a run scored on a Kalamazoo error, and a 2-RBI single from Bruder.
- Kalamazoo responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 9-7.
- Adrian picked up momentum in the ninth putting a pair of runners on base, but fell short of the comeback.
- Bruder and AJ Miranda led the team on offense each totaling three hits. Wagner finished the day with two.
- Jaxon Clark got the start on the mound throwing 4.1 innings allowing seven runs on 11 hits. Landon Kozlowski suffered the loss allowing two runs in the sixth. Ben Bates pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Adrian will have a quick turnaround and face Trine University on Tuesday, April 16 on the road as they look to sweep the series over the Thunder. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
