ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Adrian College baseball team completed the sweep over Trine University on Tuesday afternoon on the road. The Bulldogs picked up a third and final victory of the season over the Thunder with a monstrous 21-4 win. Adrian moves to 17-10 on the season and sit 8-3 in conference play to hold a second place spot in the MIAA standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trine jumped on the board first after a slow start from Adrian as the Bulldogs posted two errors in the first inning.
- Adrian responded in the second inning on an RBI single from
David Kedrow and a 2-RBI single from
Ryan Davis.
- In the fourth inning, Adrian scored on a single from
Joe Casale which was quickly answered by Trine to bring the score to 4-2.
- Adrian posted an 8-run fifth inning starting with an RBI double from
Edward Wagner. Kedrow went on to hit a sacrifice fly followed by RBI singles from Easter Rogers and Casale, a 2-RBI single from
Anthony Mannarino, an RBI single from
Nic Bruder, and an RBI groundout from Wagner.
- Trine picked up two runs in the seventh inning making the score 12-4.
- The Bulldogs erupted for a 9-run eighth inning.
Gus Weaks scored on a stolen base followed by RBI singles from
Rolando Jimenez and Bruder.
Zach Wade walked with the bases loaded before Weaks hit a sacrifice fly and a walk to
Travis Liford with the bases loaded.
Linken Hayward went on to hit a 2-RBI single to post a 21-4 win.
TOP DAWGS
- Bruder led the team with three hits on the afternoon while Casale, Wagner, and Rogers each collected two.

Luc St. Antoine got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs where he threw three innings allowing no earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Robert Leonard got the win in relief throwing a pair of innings allowing two hits.
UP NEXT
Adrian will begin its next series on Friday, April 19 at 4:00 PM when they face Calvin University on the road. The series will wrap up at Nicolay Field on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM.
