ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team took a quick trip to Alma College on Thursday afternoon to resume its series finale with the Scots from earlier in the season. The game was originally postponed due to darkness tied 13-13 in the top of the tenth. Today, the Bulldogs returned to Alma where they completed the victory by scoring three runs in the top of the 12
th to win 16-13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Prior to the suspension, Alma took a 1-0 lead in the first inning before Adrian responded with a five-run second.
- Jakob Charles hit a 2-RBI double followed by a bases clearing double from AJ Miranda to lead 5-1.
- Alma added two in the second and one in the third to make it 5-4, Adrian.
- Casale picked up an RBI in the fourth before Boike hit a grand slam in the fifth to lead 10-4.
- The Scots responded with three in the bottom of the fifth before Casale homered in the sixth for the Bulldogs to lead 11-7. Adrian added two more in the sixth on an RBI groundout from Kedrow and a wild pitch to score Miranda to lead 13-7.
- Alma scored three in the sixth, two in the eighth, and one in the ninth to tie the game and force extra innings.
- On Thursday, after trading scoreless innings in the 10th and 11th, Adrian's bats came alive in the 12th. Miranda led off the inning with a single to left field. With one out, Ryan Davis and Linken Hayward recorded back-to-back hits to load the bases. Anthony Mannarino pinch hit and drove in a pair of runs on a 2-RBI single up the middle. Boike went on to drive in another run on a sacrifice fly.
- Lincoln Lipinski came on to pitch the bottom of the 12th where he sat the Scots down 1-2-3 to end the game and record the save. Luc St. Antoine earned the win.

The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround and travel to Hope College on Friday, April 26 for a doubleheader with the Flying Dutchmen. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
