HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its final MIAA Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. After winning the MIAA Tournament, the Adrian College baseball team swept the awards with
Jaxon Clark winning Pitcher of the Week and
AJ Miranda winning Position Player of the Week.
Clark earned a win over Kalamazoo College in the winner's bracket championship on Friday afternoon. Kalamazoo hosted the tournament where Clark earned the win over the Hornets on the road. He tossed 6.2 innings allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts. The Bulldogs went on to defeat Kalamazoo, 3-2.
Miranda had himself an eight-hit performance over the three days in the MIAA Tournament. During the three games, Miranda went 8-for-14 at the plate with three doubles and two runs scored. He also recorded three RBIs including two in the MIAA Championship. Miranda led the Bulldogs in the championship game with four hits. In the field, Miranda faced 32 total chances at first base where he recorded 30 putouts and two assists.
Adrian advances to the NCAA Regionals where they will play on Friday, May 17 against Catholic University at 1:30 PM at Baldwin Wallace.
