ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club baseball team hosted Eastern Michigan University over the weekend in a three-game home series. The Bulldogs dropped game one of the series, but bounced back to win games two and three. Eastern Michigan defeated Adrian 4-2 before the Bulldogs grabbed a 12-9 win and a 16-5 win.
In game one,
Brock Hudik finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate while
Connor Davies and
Aiden Cholewa picked up RBIs.
Jack Florig threw a complete game tossing seven innings allowing four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
In game two, Adrian's bats came alive by posting 12 runs. The Bulldogs posted three runs in the first, third, fourth, and sixth inning.
Isaac Jurmu led the team with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate with three runs scored and four RBIs. Davies added three RBIs for Adrian while
Joe Postma added two. Jurmu and Postma hit a double and triple on the afternoon.
Michael Hale made the start where he threw three innings allowing two runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
In the final game of the series, Adrian exploded for 16 runs including a nine run seventh inning. Adrian finished the day with 17 hits in the game with three from
Ty Perin and two from Cholewa, Florig, and
Colton Hicks. Cholewa and
Tyler Hall hit homers for the Bulldogs.
Mathyis Neuenkirchen threw 3.1 innings allowing three earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Logan Keane pitched in relief throwing 3.2 innings allowing no runs on one hit with three strikeouts.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, September 27 in Battle Creek, Michigan for the Battle Creek Blast tournament and open up with Grand Valley State University at 4:30 PM
