Rowing Shows Early Season Success at the Head of the Cuyahoga

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Adrian College men's and women's rowing team competed in the Head of the Cuyahoga over the weekend. Adrian collected 19 individual medals in five of their six events over the weekend.
 
To start the day, in the Women's Open 1x, Adrian placed second posting a time of 25:22.921. The next event was the Men's Open 4+ where the Bulldogs placed third out of 11 boats with a time of 20:24.034 behind the second-place team by under a second. The Women's Open 4+ team went on to compete and place seventh with a time of 23:29.005.
 
Later in the day, the Bulldogs went on to place second and fifth in the Men's Open 2x with a time of 19:00.010 for the second-place team and a 20:45.196 for the fifth-place team. In the Women's Open 2x, Adrian finished third at 28:08.977.
 
The final event of the day was the Men's Open 8+. Adrian locked in another top-3 finish placing third at 18:11.326.
 
"Adrian men's and women's rowing team got off to a strong start of our fall season this past Saturday at the Head of the Cuyahoga in downtown Cleveland," expressed head coach Andrew Wimmer. "19 individual medals were earned in five of our six events! It was exciting meeting some recruits who were there racing in youth categories and to see their successes as well. We are continuing our development and are looking forward to competing in Toledo this weekend at the Glass City Regatta."
 
 
The Glass City Regatta will take place on Saturday, September 28.
