RICHMOND, IND. - The Adrian College volleyball team faced a challenging doubleheader in Richmond, Indiana, on Friday, taking on Earlham College in their first match of the day.
In a fiercely competitive contest, senior Amber Morris stud out for the Bulldogs, leading the team with 14 kills. Sophomore Virginia Rowan also made a significant impact, contributing 7 kills. Despite their efforts, the Bulldogs dropped the first set 16-25.
Freshman Ava Acre added four kills, while junior Megan Feldmann chipped in with three. Sophomore Kendall Sullivan orchestrated the offense, racking up 17 assists. The second set was a nail-biter, but the Bulldogs fell just short, losing 26-28.
Defensively, senior Mya Minjares was a standout, amassing an impressive 29 digs, with senior Lana Cox adding 12. However, the Bulldogs couldn't find their rhythm in the third set, falling 18-25.
Unfortunately, the second match against Otterbein was canceled due to a power outage, leaving the Bulldogs eager for more competition.
Looking ahead, Adrian will hit the road for their first conference match of the year against the University of Olivet on Tuesday, October 1, at 6:30 PM
