WOOSTER, Ohio. -- The Adrian College men's soccer team continued its magic on Saturday with a late goal to defeat The College of Wooster on the road by a 3-2 score and extend their win streak to nine.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring on a goal from
Tyler Berezak in the twenty-forth minute, before Wooster answered back with two goals of their own in the second half, sparking a desperation attempt for Adrian to complete the comeback. The pressure was no problem for the Bulldogs as they clawed back and scored to tie in the eighty-seventh minute, this time on a tally from
Chris Czyz.
Only a minute-and-a-half later did the Bulldogs'
Alex Greene draw a penalty kick, setting up
Dante Perri for a game-winning opportunity. Perri capitalized and put the Bulldogs up by one with less than a minute to go. The Adrian defense held on and secured the road victory, adding to the historic start to the year.
Leading for Adrian today was Greene who registered two shots, while
Aidan Leline,
Brady Musser, and
Brett Wojkowski played all ninety minutes of the match. Greene and
Owen Emert provided assists in the game. Wooster managed to out-shoot the Bulldogs 23-8 (5-4 SOG), but it was Adrian who found a way to walk out of there with the triumph. Adrian goalkeeper,
Eli Sizemore, made three saves and earned his seventh win of the season.
The Adrian College men's soccer team will return to the pitch on October 9 at Olivet, embarking on their MIAA conference schedule.
