Adrian set the tone from the opening face-off, dominating the game from start to finish. Senior
Aileena Dopheide ignited the offense, opening the scoring with a swift assist from Mya Roy and junior
Riley Johnson.
Early in the second period, senior
Zoe Lohrei found the back of the net, capitalizing on assists from Johnson and Truban to double Adrian's lead. Just four minutes later, Roy extended the advantage with a well-placed goal, thanks to a sharp assist from junior
Tia Lascelle. The Bulldogs' relentless pressure continued as junior
Allie Hubenschmidt netted Adrian's third goal of the period, assisted by Roy and sophomore
Nicole Pietrucha, pushing the lead to four.
The Bulldogs maintained their dominance in the final period. Johnson added another goal, assisted by Dopheide and Lascelle, keeping the momentum in Adrian's favor. Lohrei struck again for her second goal of the game, set up perfectly by junior
Courtney Ben and Truban. Ben then joined the scoring frenzy herself, with assists from Lascelle and graduate student
Annika Hanson.
With a commanding seven-goal lead in the third period, Roy sealed the emphatic victory by scoring the final goal, securing an impressive 8-0 win over Chatham.
Adrian's dominance was evident on the stat sheet, outshooting Chatham 83-7. Junior goaltender
Annie Gilbert was rock-solid between the pipes, turning away all seven shots faced and earning a well-deserved shutout for the Bulldogs.
Adrian is back in action where they will host Lake Forest College on Friday, January 17 in Arrington Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
