ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCBA Division III baseball team hosted the University of Toledo on Saturday for a doubleheader at Nicolay Field. The Bulldogs came away with a sweep, winning game one 12-6 and taking game two 9-2.

Toledo came out strong in the opener, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. Adrian quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the first, followed by two more in the second and another pair in the third to take a 6-3 lead. Toledo tied it up with three runs in the fourth, but Adrian regained control with one run in the fourth, one in the fifth, and a four-run sixth inning to secure the 12-6 victory.

Logan Passeggiato led the Bulldog offense, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Adam Lashaway and Landon Agosta each scored three runs. Joshua Cornett started on the mound for Adrian, pitching four innings and allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out three. Austin Allenbaugh came on in relief and tossed three scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and striking out three.

In game two, Adrian opened the scoring with a run in the first inning. Toledo responded with one in the top of the second, but the Bulldogs took control with two runs in the bottom of the second and three more in the third. A three-run sixth inning extended Adrian's lead to 9-1 before Toledo added one final run in the seventh.

Lashaway and Stephan Anderson each had two hits in the win, with Anderson driving in three runs. Nate Linder earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts. Tate Wyse closed out the game, tossing two innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out one.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, October 18, when they host the University of Michigan-Flint for a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 PM
